UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Late 3rd-early 4th centuries. 'Aureus' (Gold, 21 mm, 6.18 g, 1 h), 'Tetrarchic Adventus Group A'. Imitating Maximianus, 286-305. MAXIMIANVS AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Maximianus to left. Rev. COS III Maximianus on horseback to right, raising his right hand in salute. Aurum Barbarorum I, 822 (same dies). Cf. Calicó 4635 (for prototype with head to right). Holed, otherwise, fine.
